We would like to introduce you to our full-time Evangelist, Stephen Lord, and his family. Stephen and Diane are college sweethearts who have been married 19 years. As you can see from their family photo, that marriage has produced 4 children of their own: Sarah, Hannah, Adam, and Benjamin. The Lord's have also served as foster parents.
People sometimes ask Diane why she married a Preacher. Her standard response is, "I didn't, I married a janitor." Now, before we rush to the assumption that her response is a commentary on Stephen's preaching, at the time they married, Stephen was working his way through college as a public school custodian. He also served as a groundskeeper and a public safety officer before finally completing his 4 year Bachelor's Degree (in the exciting field of History) on the 7 year plan. The goal was to be a school teacher, but that didn't happen. Stephen entered the ministry at the request of a local congregation where he and Diane were members. Several years later he completed a Master's Degree in Ministry from Pepperdine University. Before becoming a homemaker and home-schooling their children, Diane worked in Early Childhood Education. Together they have served congregations in California and Washington before coming to Howell.
